This is a selection of Antonio Veneziano’s love octaves translated into English verse by Gaetano Cipolla. Veneziano was the most admired poet of Sicily whom everyone tried to imitate. The 90 octaves selected for this anthology provide a clue as to why he was so admired by all poets.
