Since the beginning of the foundation of the United States of America, dance and music combined have influenced and even been the catalyst for social movements and change. This book delves into how Black and Brown artistsincluding African American, African Brazilian, Haitian, and Latine contributorsspiritual practitioners, mothers, cultural presenters, community organizers, performers, and teachersconfront civic responsibility and social justice through their artistic practices and activism.
