Bu’Tiful-U is a youth leadership curriculum focused on self-esteem for adolescent girls of color. The youth leadership curriculum focused on self-esteem is critical to addressing psychological and emotional issues confronting teenage girls. Bu’Tiful-U is designed to enhance self-esteem, instill positive thinking, and further develop unique qualities in adolescent girls. The voices of females, especially girls of color, have been silenced for years. For instance, girls that have been abused and neglected were made to believe it was a way of life and then labeled negatively by society. The majority of these girls are excluded from positive groups that can help boost their self-esteem and inspire them to be future leaders within their society due to their behaviors.
